LeapDroid is a fully functional Android OS emulator that can be operated on any modern Windows version. It enables PC users to install a virtual machine environment on their desktop, which allows for many different applications ranging from lightweight social network applications to entertainment applications, productivity applications, and even games. This feature can be achieved by emulating Android 4.4 Kit Kat, an older but very stable Android OS version still supported by many contemporary apps.
With its greatest characteristic – the ability to map different finger functions, this emulator’s usability factor is achieved. Using this tool it is possible to configure easily activated macros, which can emulate various interface elements, including cursor (finger flicks), button tapping, keyboard keys, left mouse taps, and more. With little ease, you can set up complete mouse and keyboard support for applications and games which do not have native input support, allowing you to play better in Android FPS games such as those you want.
LeapDroid is a lag-free android emulator. Even on 2GB Ram PCs and laptop hardware, the system is lightweight and easy to use, allowing users to experience Android apps with powerful PC hardware (with more CPU, GPU, and RAM resources than on any phone). On the other hand, it has made developers focus on speed and precise emulation, providing a smooth and pleasant experience even when running demanding video game applications. The settings of the emulator are relatively limited. Emulator says 99 percent of Android KitKat apps can be executed. A drawback is that advanced characteristics such as ADB or APK file layout are not supported.
Be aware that developers of LeapDroid have abandoned this project quite a while ago, and while their latest version is quite stable and feature full, it will not be updated anymore in the future. The most obvious missing features are the ability to access the Camera and GPS features found in regular Android phones.
Installation and Use
Leap Droid is distributed inside a fairly large but quick-to-install package, that will be ready to be started on your PC in just a few seconds. The first startup of the emulator can be a bit longer, between a minute or two, but the subsequent startups are much faster. The default working resolution of the emulator is 1280×800 with PPI of 295, but you can change these settings to better fit your needs. The emulator comes with the preinstalled version of Android 4.4.4 that has full access to the Google Play store, enabling you to quickly download and test any application you want, or even sync it with your own Google Account and extend your daily Android users to your home PC.

We’ve tested it with a few games like Clash Royale, Hearthstone, and Mortal Kombat X – PUB Mobile and its performance is impressive. Also, the program doesn’t let you make any extra charges to the graphics or viewing mode, which obviously makes the speedway better. Obviously, performance varies depending on your machine, but the technological range is still big enough for there not to be too many problems.
All that aside, the app’s behavior is very stable, despite having a few annoying defects like the impossibility of installing apps from APKs by dragging them from the guest operating system. But its developers have confirmed that they’re working on this and other features that are currently essential on any good Android emulator.
